"The Next Step" (次なる段階, Tsuginaru Suteppu) is episode 76 of the Naruto: Shippūden anime.

Naruto Shippuden Episode 76

The opening themes for this season were "Blue Bird" (ブルーバード, Burūbādo) by Ikimono-gakari to episode 77 and "Closer" by Joe Inoue from episode 78 onward, and the ending themes were "Broken Youth" by NICO Touches the Walls to episode 77 and "Long Kiss Good Bye" by Halcali from episode 78 onward. The broadcast versions from episode 70 to 73 include scenes from the film in the opening themes, while still retaining the original music.

It premiered on TV Tokyo on April 5, 2017, and aired every Wednesday at 5:55 PM JST.[4] Starting May 3, 2018 (episode 56) it aired every Thursday at 7:25 PM JST.[5] Starting October 7, 2018 (episode 76) it now airs every Sunday at 5:30 PM JST.[6] The series is also being released in DVDs.[7] Viz Media licensed the series on March 23, 2017, to simulcast it on Hulu, and on Crunchyroll.[8] On April 21, 2020, it was announced that episode 155 and onward would be delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.[9] After a two-month hiatus, the episode resumed on July 5, 2020. On March 9, 2023, it was announced that the series is set to finish its first part with episode 293 on March 26, 2023 and a second part was announced to be in development.[10][11]

In the United States, the English dub made its premiere on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block on September 29, 2018.[12] Adult Swim removed the series from the block's rotation after episode 52 on October 20, 2019. Adult Swim executive Jason DeMarco addressed on Twitter that they currently have no plans to bring the anime back.[13] The same batch of dubbed episodes were additionally broadcast in Australia on ABC Me.[verification needed]

NOTE: The series does not feature any official "arc" or "season" sub-listing titles on Japanese home media releases, which was originally the case in determining the division of both Naruto anime series. For practicality purposes this article has been split up into smaller sectioned listings, with each representing groups of 52 episodes each (with the exception of the sixth list, which consists of 33 episodes and stops at the end of the anime's first part). These lists do not constitute as an official means for dividing the Boruto anime series.

Below, you will find your guide on watching Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. To help with readability, the episodes will be broken up into 50-episode parts as those tend to be good places to end both numerically and in the story. After the first listing, you will find a list for mixed, anime, and manga canon episodes. There will also be a list of manga canon only episodes. The final list will be a filler episodes only list.

That brings the total down to 204 episodes. This includes all mixed, anime, and manga canon episodes. It appears the eleventh entry above will continue through at least episode 234 before adding more filler episodes.

The next list will be a manga canon episodes list. This list of episodes will adhere most closely to the story told in the manga. It also makes for the most streamlined viewing experience.

With manga canon episodes only, the number drops to a mere 58 episodes. If you only care about the fight against the Otsutsuki and the enigma that is Kawaki (among others), then these are the episodes for you.

The filler episodes comprise 29 total episodes. Compared to the 90 over the original Naruto series (220 episodes) and 200 for Naruto Shippuden (500 episodes), 29 is rather miniscule.

The manga of Boruto began serialization in May 2016, but has been on a monthly release schedule. The anime began less than a year later in April 2017. Basically, the pace of the anime exceeds the manga. As such, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations took a different tact from the previous two series by minimizing filler and adding anime canon episodes that focus more on character development. The anime even went on a hiatus during parts of the pandemic and still has less than 60 manga canon episodes.

To put it in perspective, there will be 233 episodes of the anime as of January 23, 2022. As of the same date, there will have only been 66 chapters of the manga released.

The Big 3 Celebration. This is going to be a mini series we are doing on the podcast where each week we will talk about the big three and the animes as a whole. These episodes will be in 2 part discussions. We will be separating Naruto between OG Naruto and Shippuden. 041b061a72
